Used them for a project a couple of years ago. They were helpful on the phone for a tricky part install.

The Bone Steel adapters are generally well regarded if you're looking to add an AR style stock.
Also, be careful as it's my understanding that you cannot convert these in MD.

I thought that if you replaced a certain number of parts with US made you could?
I'm pretty certain that converting them is verboten in MD, 922r compliance or not.

I believe once you take it out of it's imported "sporter" configuration (per 96-1) it is no longer good, but I have been wrong before.
Yes, that's my take as well. Per the MSP, the VEPR sporter is GTG. OTOH, you don't see a Krebs KV-13 (VEPR based) for sale here.
Trust me, I have one that I'm dying to convert, but am waiting until I move.
Until then, I'm stuck with this:

I'm going to keep the wood on the front. Need to add bullet guide and would like to lighten it up a bit too.
