Leafing through their site after my dejection at missing this, I see many pages and several other offers. They'll be back around.

    Nice are they MD legal

Yeah, very hard to resist. I almost bought after I got the email alert, as I want a stainless one too (have the classic Ranch Rifle with blued barrel), but other things are higher on the list that I need to save for. Posting a deal always seems to reduce my desire to buy - not sure why - but I do it when the temptation is strong and self control is wavering.

Shooters Discount has stainless steel mini-14 police trade ins. They have the black plastic stocks, flash hiders and bayonet lugs. The ones I saw look to be lightly used. I don't know the price offhand. I believe Shooters Discount will be at the Fredrick show this weekend just maybe no Lou.

I wonder what the bores are like? If they were at a state corrections academy they could have thousands upon thousands of rounds shot through them.

The MD corrections gun have been shot out. Lots of problems on the ones I've seen. Many are decades old.

Yea ...decades old and tens of thousands of rounds does not equate to$500 being a good deal IMO anyway

It depends on the gun you get.

The one I bought from Shooter's Discount looked like a new gun inside and out.

And I highly doubt tens of thousands of rounds went through any one gun.
