Those kinds of complaints are un-American and anti-Capitalist. Bunch of butt hurt Bernie Bro’s, lol

The reason these Socialist ideas take hold is a lack of economics education in the government run schools.

So you're ok with price gouging.

I can see the law of supply and demand, but where is the line drawn between good business and gouging?

    Q

That is the real question. Too bad the free market doesn't take care of it. I used to buy from CTD. I have not since 2013. Hopefully more people will see it.

I don’t necessarily have an issue with supply and demand, but CTD has a history of cancelling legit orders as OOS and then having plenty of stock days later at gouging prices

Same here. If it were TP by the roll, or water, or other staple (hand sanatizer), there would be big noise. Like we saw happen in Amazon and Ebay.

Because it is a non staple item, eh, no big deal. Funny how that works, until it is something a person cares about.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. IIRC, CTDs site automatically adjusts prices based on demand and views of the item (real time adjustment?).

    CTD playing the game.

Consumers and patriots playing the game...too.

What’s not to like. Don’t gotta hate em. Just gotta spend your hard earned dollars where you want to. Money talks. BS whining walks..

True, next ammo supplier is a click away.

This right here is reprehensible behavior.

OTOH, raising prices on future sales of uncommitted inventory helps maintain some level of inventory so those who really really need something can get it. A bad situation is created if a merchant holds the line on prices and is completely out of inventory. If someone with a genuine need comes along, they're out of luck.

    Q

As I see it, gouging only exists in the minds of the unprepared. No one is forcing anyone to buy ammunition at ridiculous prices. If you fail to see the utility in maintaining adequate supplies of anything, it's on you. If you cannot afford to maintain adequate supplies, you need to re-evaluate your life choices.

Admittedly, some items are controlled by regulatory authorities. This usually renders stockpiling difficult, or impossible. While I might disagree about the regulation, items like pharmaceuticals necessary for life maintenance will probably not be severely impacted, as the number of pts needing them is not likely to snowball.

    Q

You don’t see the law of supply and demand. If you did, you wouldn’t use emotionally charged terms like “price gouging”. It’s all voluntary.

So if TP went to $12 per roll once you ran out, you would be ok with it, or find an alternative. I understand what you are saying, and I don't think a majority of folks would buy CTD prices so there is that. As PT Barmun said there is one born every minute.

    Q

Yes, of course. And the good thing about $12 toilet paper is that it means no one is buying it to hoard, and furthermore manufacturers are going to kill themselves to ramp up toilet paper production as fast as possible which will push the prices back down.

Toilet paper that’s expensive but available is useful. Toilet paper that’s on sale but out of stock because some jackass bought 10x more than needed is not helpful.

I hear that. I wonder how many folks pay the CTD price? It will be interesting to see in a few months on GB "I am selling it at what I have in it".

Haters gotta hate. For me, I've got better things to do with my time.

Every time I see this thread, I ask my self, WTF did these guys do to each and every person griping here? I don't buy from them only because they ain't 'cheaper than dirt'. I don't think they have one thing that's cheaper than you can buy anywhere else. Can't we move on?
