Hello from Parkville

I haven't pulled the trigger on much of anything since my hunting days back in the mid '70's. I recently found the urge to get my HQL and a couple of firearms for home protection. The info found here on MDS was very benificial to getting these things done. Thanks for being there.

Small world! When I was a kid, we still called that area around Joppa Road and Loch Raven Blvd. Bainesville.

Still Bainesville to my Family. We still say "Eudowood Shopping Center" and refer to the area across from the Golden Arm on York Rd. as the Caldor SC.

Thanks for the welcome folks.
Having been away from hunting for so many years, and selling off all my arms, I recently felt the need to have something for home protection. So, I purchased a Mossberg 500 and a Browning buckmark. There is a trap club 1.5 mi up Harford rd, I tried to bust some clays, had some fun, and shall return. I'm looking forward to trying out my Buckmark at freestate gun range soon.

Welcome! I am also new here as of today.

I am originally from Parkville and grew up in a house near Northern Pkwy and Harford Road. My parents moved away to Carroll County in the 80s and now my wife and I own a home here in CC as well.

My grandparents used to live right on Putty Hill only 2-3 houses from the high school athletic fields, and my sister now lives in a relative's former house at the far end of Old Harford Road. Both are totally different neighborhoods than what I remember as a kid - I can definitely understand your concerns for home protection. I am thankful that my remaining grandmother is living in what is still a pretty pleasant neighborhood off of Taylor Avenue. She is 95 and still an active member of her bowling league. She says that the secret to her health is that she lives in an area where she isn't afraid to walk to the bowling alley or the grocery store (in broad daylight at least).

If that's the church I'm thinking of, my parents were married there about 2 years before I was born.
