It’s funny you say the mayor lives in Annapolis. I sure as hell wouldn’t live in the city if I had a choice.

I was being cheeky and underhandedly referring to her political allegiances and aspirations rather than her actual residence. That being said, I won't ague with anyone's choice to avoid Baltimore like the plague. I've been a city resident going on 7 years and nothing short of blind optimism (and a penchant for classic dive bars) have kept me here so far.

A city of 600,000 exceeds that of a city of 8 million?

And exceeds the per capita rate of Chicago

Great job MGA and Marty O.

FSA 2013 working as all liberal gun control schemes do.

    Not at all.

    :sad20:

It's double Chicago's per capita rate IIRC....

    Update:
    557 / 2.7m is 21 per 100k people
    286 / 600k is 48 per 100k people

    So yea, more than 2x

I'd love to see if the marriage rate (an indicator of family structure) correlates with murder rates nationally. Or maybe the murder rate is high because of the NRA!:sarcasm:

Yes and the latest bitching and moaning from the Baltimore City Council is that the police dept is "raping" the city because many of the cops choose to live outside the cesspool

Can't blame them for not wanting to live there,It would be like never get off duty, Who wants to subject there family to those dangers.
Last thing a LEO wants is to have the Hoodrats know were they live.

Or to better themselves and get out of it.

That's why fixing the broken school system is only a part of the solution. Let's say that City schools improve and kids growing up there get greater opportunities. As you said, these people will probably strive to leave the City, which will leave it in the same shape, just minus some smart people. The catch and release approach to law enforcement has to change.
