    Looks to me like a pretext to stop Frederick from cooperating with ICE.

    Sheriff Chuck Jenkins (R) said Monday he was "disappointed" in the council and Gardner's decision to ask for an audit. He said he first heard about it Sunday night from a council member.

    "This is a clear statement the county executive and council don't trust my management authority," Jenkins said.

    The Sheriff doesn’t work for the council. They need to learn that.

    The Sheriff is dependent upon the council for his budget. He needs to learn that.

    This won’t end well.

    That was the mayor of Frederick and Board of Alderman that wasted taxpayer funds. The County Council is a different bunch of apparatchiks.

    The Sheriff may not work for the County Council but they're the ones that provide his budgetary funding.
