Who's going? Day shift or evening shift?

I'd like to go and I just paid $750 to get my outboard fixed so I'd like to test it on the water as well, but I'm shooting trap tmrw and have a few things to do with the kids in the evening so I'll either go Sun evening or one day next week.

    Damn!!

    You all are chumming crack.

Tell your buddy to cease licking his striper until it's cooked!

Water nice and calm. When hitwtom took me out last season it was like a washing machine, but I got me a fish.

I was working at Sandy Point checking fish and doing vessel checks today. This had to be the worst opening day I can remember. We only saw 8 keepers and not one boat had more than one fish. Most of the captains said there was a lot of debris on the water and they kept pulling up some kind of jelly fish on their soft baits. I will say that the parking lot was as full as I remember back to before 2008.

Nice job Outrider! We fished hard til 3 north of the Bridge but only caught one small tree... :lol2::mad54:
The winter jellies were there, but really not as bad as previous openers.

We really marked very few fish, they just weren't there for us...

Yeah, I heard at a tournament party this afternoon that it was terrible for most folks....no rocks to be had.

Congrats to Outrider and his buddy...

Struck out as well. Fished hard till little after 4. The jellies were hit or miss. We would go from every 30 minutes checks to over an hour as we moved around. Some spots were thick, others clean. Did not hear of many fish being caught.

Yes, we heard that report. Last we heard, it was five fish. Glad a couple more people got lucky.

Yeah, the winter jellies didn't seem as bad as years past. Only thing we found them on(jellies) were on our down baits. All our tandem parachute rigs stayed pretty clean because we kept them pretty shallow. Those were what we caught our three(one was short and released) fish on.

Anybody know what was on fire above the bridge?

Was there any lice on those fish?

No lice on either keeper fish, and we did check.

I believe that 2nd fish would have won the $1000 top prize at the Boatyard Bar & Grill tournament party I was attending. Shame.

Second fish was three inches shorter but a real butterball! It may very well have outweighed my fish,

Awesome catch!!! Most everyone I spoke to got skunked so catching two pigs is huge, good work.

Hopefully I'll have a fishpic to show when I finally make it out.
