1911 Idiot Scratch Removal?

Yes, I created an idiot scratch on my Colt Combat Elite. It was my first 1911 and I'm as gentle as a wounded elephant.

Does anyone know of a good place to have the scratch removed? I'm in Frederick county.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've got one that I bought with the scratch. I see as a badge of cleanliness. Don't sweat it.

For those of us that are afraid of getting the idiot scratch, just use a business card just below the corresponding hole. When you push the slide release back in, it will ride on the card, and not the frame.

The 1911 forum has a sticky that shows you were to file the slide stop to give relief for the plunger.
