Anyone have any experience with the Holosun HS510c? The one that looks like an Eotech?
I want it for the field of view and for the 65moa circle dot reticle

For those of you who are gonna say just buy an eotech, no. I don't necessarily agree some of their history so I'll just steer clear.

I have heard good things across the board. I believe that Holosun also manufactures some items for Primary Arms. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

My only experience with Holosun - I asked the store clerk see the site, asked if the objective lens was supposed to be canted (I also notice some glue that had oozed out). I hand the site back to the clerk, he rotates it in his hand and the front lens FALLS OUT. I wasn't impressed. Have you considered one of the new SIG red dots? They're only like $250.

I know feel EOtech has a checkered past, but the are light years ahead of the Chinese made junk. I have most of the higher end red dots and other only one that has ever given me a problem or broke is a Trijicon SRS. Personally, I like the Aimpoint T and H series.

My thing is I really enjoy shooting with the circle dot reticle and feild of view
Is the sigs have anything like that ?

Holosun is based out of Florida and is thought to be an OEM maker for some Primary Arms, Vortex, and Sig Romeo red dots. Their early 400 series red dots had a bad field review that Chad posted in the SOTAR IP forum. I have a couple 500 series, but not the larger field of view one that you mentioned. They've been fine so far, but I'll probably save for the Trijicon MRO or Aimpoint Pro (sometimes in the $460 range) for my go to AR. I think Hogarth endorsed the Aimpoint in another thread, and based on the amount of training that guy does and the number of different specialists that he interacts with his training, I would regard his viewpoint pretty highly (lacking comparable experience).

    Great write up thank you!
I have an MRO and I love it for the feild of view. I went to check out the aimpoint micros and the dot was way more crisp to my eye, but I really noticed the tub effect. I'm not a big fan of shooing with both eyes open either.
The reason I was interested in the eotech was simply for the retlicle that aim point or Trijicon have even tried duplicating as far as I know. If anything ill just keep saving up for an aimpoint and stick for iorns for now

I have a couple holosun 503C's which I picked up with my eotech refund. They are on ARs and have both seen around 500-600rounds(and some rough treatment in classes) so far with zero issues.
I like the reticle with the option of just a dot or the classic circle dot (eotech style) plus the bat life is excellent.

    I'd recommend it.

That being said I will keep an eye on how the new Vortex is working for folks and maybe try that in the future also.

I have 2 on pistols, a 503C and 405B I believe are the model numbers. One is solar powered and has multiple reticles, the other no solar and strictly a 2 minute dot. Both have served me well and I will buy another when necessary. bob

Think of the nice gun that could buy: AR-15, 1911, tons of plastic semi-autos, S&W 629, Ruger Redhawk, and so on. Instead I get to stare at a tiny red dot with no reticle and tinted glass for the same money? No way.
