Did something recently go into effect ? I just tried to order on OpticsPlanet and this is what I got? Never had issues receiving ammo before..

OpticsPlanet does not currently support sales of ammunition to a number of locations, including, but not limited to, the following:

    Alaska
    California
    Connecticut
    Hawaii
    Illinois
    Maryland
    Massachusetts
    New Jersey
    New York
    Washington, D.C
    P.O. Boxes; U.S. Territories

Optics Planet isn't the greatest dealer on a good day. I avoid them when possible. As for legality, it's just them making stuff up. Other dealers have no issues shipping ammo to MD.

No Optic's Planet is just being stupid.

Here is a list of the companies I have ordered from that will ship ammo to Maryland. I know there are a lot more.

    Target Sports USA
    Brownells
    Palmetto State Armory
    Underwood Ammo

Pretty sure midway just sent me a big box of ammo in the day. I found it when I got home from work.

It’s premature but I expect to see the same restrictions here as in California. They can’t take the guns away but they can make our life as unpleasant as possible. When Trump wins and prices come down/availability gets better, use the next 4 years to prepare accordingly.

My guess is that it has to do with whatever MoCo’s deal is regarding ammo. I never understood it, so I will not try to explain it, but I have bought a lot of ammo online. Most retailers I have purchased from have a blurb about not shipping some or all kinds of ammo to MoCo. Optics Planet is basically a drop shipper with some stock on hand, so they are already not set up to be very good at anything. I could imagine they would just refuse to do business with Maryland as opposed to taking 5 minutes to copy what their competitors are doing. Or maybe Frosh sent out some random Cease and Desist letters to major 2A related retailers and they just decided it wasn’t worth the trouble.

That’s my guess anyway. And it is highly likely to be worth exactly what you paid for it.

My guess it's just somebody at optics planet making poor business decisions based on poor reasoning. I stopped shopping there last year.

Optics Planet was just bought by a new company about two years ago. They screwed my orders up twice so I will not purchase anything from them again.

On a good note, a used to be reloading distributor has expanded to selling guns ammo, gun parts etc. Midsouth Shooters Supply is a great company to do business with and run pretty good sales from time to time.

Unfortunately Trump can do nothing about the idiots in the MGA who will continue to chip away at our rights. I have not doubt that this will include ammo restrictions in the near future.

I had a less-than-ideal experience with Optics Planet and have never gone back since. Conspiracy theory: Maybe some anti-firearms IT geek is inputing false information on their web site.

No, its just laziness and we don't care about small markets (which is part of laziness).
