Talking Clandestine's Daughter - Anchors Aweigh 8-22-18

3/9/2017
My Daughter Enlisted and performed her Swear In for the U.S. Navy today.

I am proud beyond words.

She still has 3 months before H.S. Graduation, and she will leave Sep12 for Great Lakes, IL.

UPDATE 6/14/2017
My daughter broke her leg. We are praying it won't kill her Navy Enlistment.

Thanks to MDS and the AR School I started, I met an Orthopedic Surgeon who helped me find a fantastic Orthopedic Doctor/Surgeon to help my daughter.

UPDATE 12/7/2017
My daughter has recovered 100%. The surgeon was amazing.

The Navy wants to do a full medical review in 45 days at MEPS. From there they say she should be shipping off I'm short order as long as they clear her. They also want her to lose some weight she gained from being less mobile

UPDATE 2/28/2018
Mag received a Certified Letter from MEPS. She is disqualified from Armed Forces due to having hardware in her leg from the break.

Recruiter says there is a Waiver, bit it sounds like a bunch of B.S. if there was a waiver why was it not an option before sending that letter. Sounds like it's a done deal and the Military is not an option for her.

UPDATE 3/29/2018
Great news for Maggie. The D.O.D./U.S. Navy accepted the Waiver on the second Waiver Attempt. Her acceptance is completely based on the excellent work her Surgeon performed AND the letter he wrote to the U.S. Navy stating her full and total recovery.

UPDATE 4/24/2018
Maggie swore in today as an Aviation Ordnance Handler (AO). She ships off on 5/21 for Great Lakes, IL.

Aviation ordnancemen are aircraft armament (weapons) specialists in charge of storing, servicing, inspecting and handling of all types of weapons and ammunition carried on Navy aircraft.

What They Do:

Inspect, maintain and repair aircraft mechanical and electrical armament/ordnance systems; Service aircraft guns and accessories; Stow, assembles and load aviation ammunition including aerial mines, torpedoes, missiles and rockets; Service bomb, missile and rocket releasing and launching devices; Load supplementary munitions; assemble, tests and maintain air-launched guided missiles; Supervise operation of aviation ordnance shops, armories and stowage facilities.

UPDATE 5/7/2018
Maggie failed her Pre Shipment P.T. Test. She missed he mile and a half time. She retests in a week.

UPDATE 5/14/2018
Maggie retakes her Pre Shipment P.T. Test today at 15:00. If she does not pass, she does not ship on 5/21/2018
ETA: Postponed till Friday. Recruiters rescheduled P.T. Test.

UPDATE 5/18/2018
On Saturday two days before she was supposed to leave her Chief recruiter calls her and tells her that her ship date is being postponed by 10 days. Some BS about there being a problem at Great Lakes Training Center and a lack of staff. Her "new" ship date is 5/31.

UPDATE 5/31/2018

More B.S.

Maggie is not shipping. We are at MEPS and they tell her she is .50" too large for the tape. They won't make an exception. She taped out yesterday but not today.

She has no ship date for now and she may lose her Rating. She has no job, sold all of her things she could to downsize, and donated a bunch of her stuff as well.

The Doctors at MEPS are real pieces of work.

She may just give up, I wouldnt blame her. Complete B.S.

UPDATE 8/20/2018
Great news for Maggie. Today was her last chance to make her weight and tape measurements at MEPS. She made her weight and tape requirements. She leaves this Wednesday the 22nd of August.

Since all of her previous contracts were missed due to her not making the requirements in some way, she is now in a PACT Aviation Contract.

UPDATE 8/22/2018
Maggie shipped today. She should arrive at Great Lakes Training Center at 8P.M.

My wife applied for the navy for PA School but her recruiter turned in the paperwork later. The bad news.....I was almost 180K in debt for her school. The good news......everything worked out with us and it's totally worth that monthly mortgage sized student loan check.
