I have a hi point 995 classic model, I got a ts type stock from another member here and am just getting around to putting them together.

The problem is, the classic stock has a barrel band that is held by the forward-most screw in the stock, right behind the front sight mount.

The new stock is shorter- about three inches, it has a slot where the forward-most screw goes that the barrel band will fit in, however the holes do not line up to get the screw all the way through. Is this normal?

Should I just dump the barrel band, the new stock has a top cover that slides on and holds the barrel by pressure, is that enough? I would have to remove the barrel band, as the screw in this hole is what holds the sling swivel.

    Thanks for any help.

I have a Ati stock yet to be installed on a 995c and a while back saw a Youtube vid. on the install process. It may answer your question.
