Maybe it means an early or harsh winter is coming our way. I was boating on the bush river and passed what appeared to be a raft of diving ducks near the mouth of the river. I circled back to take a look and sure enough they took off en masse and flew away a foot off the water. I wasn't able to identify them but I doubt they were teal based on their behavior and location. Strange, for a warm sunny September day.
