Is there anything special about a Tula 1943 Hex. It has matching serial numbers.

Even if not special, what would you expect one to cost in today's market?

Sort of, in 1943 all new production receivers were round so its made on an old recycled receiver. As far as price maybe a small premium over a normal 91/30? Not totally sure there, guess it depends how bad you want it

You will break down and cry if I told you what I paid for cases of them 40 years ago. However, I digress.

The only thing that would make it special is if under the tang it had the number 91 through 98, then it would be an antique. Other than that it is just another 3 line rifle.

I thought they stopped doing hex receivers at some point early in the war as noted in the chart.
Pull the receiver off and look for a date on the bottom of the tang. It may have been refurbed and a different dated barrel put onto the receiver.
    any [SA] marks on it?

Finn M39's are built on an older receiver, My '41 M39 is on a 1900 receiver

thanks for the site. Evidently, mine is a level 3 rarity ranking. Never been shot, still has some cosmoline in it a little. Picked out of a crate at Chantilly some 6-8 years ago with bayonet. Wish it had the kit..... in a silicone cock sock from Midwayusa in my safe. I purchased two boxes of non corrosive 7.62x54r. I will pull the receiver off to look at the tang. Thanks again...

By kit you mean the ammo pouches and cleaning kit?
If so, I’ve got ya covered. No charge.
PM me if you’re going to the meet up at welders. I’ll try and dig out one to bring.

Interesting, not ministry of defence. Thanks for the info. They are not all that common?

They are common enough and just a refurb mark. Nothing to do with Kremlin Guard rifles or any other made up stories over the years. People that paid extra for MO, double MO, triple MO marks paid extra for multi time refurbed rifles. Many are not worth what they paid.

exactly. They used to come with them, then in 2013 they became crazy rare- like the VZ2008 with the kits. Awesome.
