I am interested in finishing an unfinished aluminum AR lower and have been doing some research. I understand that the prep work is probably the most important part so I'm thinking about sandblasting with aluminum oxide. I don't have any sandblasting equipment or experience and I'm hoping to get some advice on the equipment. I am a DIY type person and could have other uses for sandblasting but don't want to spend a whole lot of money (under $200). Do you think this would be a good tool for doing a lower ? https://www.amazon.com/S-H-Industri...sr=8-1&keywords=40017+blaster#customerReviews. Or should I get a small and inexpensive bench top cabinet? Like this https://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Porta...970&sr=8-1&keywords=abrasive+blaster+benchtop . I also want something that I would be able to use for other projects but don't think they would be large projects like a car frame.

    Thanks,
    Tim

I would definitely recommend the benchtop cabinet over the pot blaster. I have a large cabinet blaster and change the blast media only maybe once a year.

I use 170gr glass beads to prep surfaces for Cerakote....for what that's worth.
