To which Rep. Swalwell decided to reply - in a not tyrannical-sounding way at all... "And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities."

If this pinhead wants war, he'll get one, but it would be more like this:

The problem is they believe the government can and will do what's best for people if the right people are in government.

That's why they're horrified when the "wrong" people are elected, and why they can't accept the results.

They also don't understand the limits of government and why, historically, it was set up with checks and balances.

They just insist on plowing forward with their own tyrannical agenda, believing, "It's them or us."

They understand it, they just don't like it unless their party isn't in control.

Hell, they often had Letters of Marque and were armed to wage war. Baltimore was a leading port for privateering.

We need to stop calling them Democrats and start calling them what they are: the Totalitarian Party.

Even lesser ports like Chestertown had cannon foundries. Cannons forged in Chestertown were not made for the government.

    As does John Mosby.

    Mosby didn't start a war.

Beauregard deliberately provoked a war that could easily have been avoided. He thought starting a war was a good idea.

It turned out that provoking an unnecessary war wasn't such a good idea after all.

Charges against criminals committing crimes with illegal guns gets dropped like a hot potato.

Legal gun owners are threatened with nuclear vaporization for legally owning firearms.

This boy is an ******* and needs to be removed from office via 21st floor window.

Swalwell will stare into the camera and lie to your face with boyish charm. And iirc he boasts about his family's law enforcement creds. A regular Marilyn Mosby, that boy is.

If the US nuked a civilian uprising, I wonder if another country would invade to depose the government that ordered that.

If a conservative tweeted something like that they'd have to worry about some activist kook running and getting a "red flag" order. It's almost like a big reason the Democrats love the red flag laws so much is because they help silence conservatives. But that can't possibly be on purpose.

I'm pretty sure that if there ever is another full blown American Civil War, the victor will be China...:sad20:

Nah, Soros will have bought most of the country for pennies on the dollar, and sold it to the highest bidder afterward. I'm convinced the only reason he had children was to supply host bodies for his brain transplant.

But somewhat more seriously re : one side has nukes ( or more generally large high tech millitary of standards of the era ) vs small , low tech resistance :

Phillipine guerillas vs Spanish Empire , the US Army, Imperial Japanese , and Phillipine Gov't in various eras .

Continental Army (& Patriots generally ) vs British Empire .

Every darn body and their brother in the Balkans vs every major power from the Roman Empire to recently .

While US Army eventually subdued the Apache Nation , it took massive numbers and decades ( and even more decades by the more ruthless Mexican Army ) .

The Viet Minh/ Viet Cong vs the French Foreign Legion and later the US .

Various Berber, etc tribes vs French, Spanish, and Italians in various specific locals, and eras . Include Roman Empire too .

Taliban, and various predicessor groups vs British Empire, Russian Empire, USSR , and US led Coalition . All the way back to Alexander the Great .

Umm...not quite. Historically, an insurgent movement is good to assist a field army, but is no substitute for one. In the American Revolution, Washington cobbled together a force that ultimately became quite competent. Certainly the French who worked with them were impressed by the diligence and professionalism of the Americans.

As for this twit in California, he needs to consider that his state has been playing "sanctuary city" and "sanctuary state" games. Also known as Nullification...a political discussion we had in the 1850s and 1860s. And they don't have the fig leaf of a bill of secession. Which means they are in rebellion against the Government of the United States.

And the last time a state thought it could override the Federal Government, Eisenhower sent the 101st Airborne to Little Rock.
