Trying to find out if GI 30rd'ers are worth anything these days? I know pretty much everything is polymer now. Is anyone still buying/using/collecting these mags any more?

I love the 30 round aluminum colt mags. I always grab those first over pmags. I bought a mess of them in Gettysburg for $15 each.

The GI mags are still useful in certain firearms that don't like pmags - the FS2000 coming to mind, but also some of the conversions (M85NP, Galil mag adapter, etc.).

We sell them for $7 to $9 each, depending on condition, of course sales are out of state or to LE personnel only. No collector value as they are readily available everywhere.

Still got mine, still use them. PMags look wrong in a retro AR build!

The only thing I don't like about GI mags is the follower... although the old metal followers are nifty. Even the newer 'anti-tilt' version isn't great. I routinely replace the followers in my shooting mags with a PMag version.

Metal mags are better if you want to store loaded mags. The feed lips will not deform like poly mags. Unless you get Gen3 with the "dust cap."

I've got more D&H aluminum 30 rounders than anything else. I like them better than plastic.

    +1, cheap and they work.

I use poly (Pmags, Lancers) along with Brownells and D&H aluminum mags (both with Magpul followers). PSA has D&H 30 rounders for $6.99. Can't beat that.
