A friend recently acquired this sword and is looking for a place to have it appraised, any help?
    It’s a 15th century Spanish knighting sword.

You probably already know the motto and the inscription are associated with Ferdinand and Isabella. The original was used for formal ceremonies including the knighting of Christopher Columbus.

So as Keg has said, you'll be keeping it in the shirasaya. Was there a particular place you sent it to be finished?

Yes and actually I has a new shirasaya fitted as well because the original one pictured is old and fits a bit tight

It was polished by Aoijapan. They have a website aoijapan.com

Thanks, yes it's up there. I guess the market sets the price but it's a little high IMHO.

    That looks pricey...

Yeah, got me at a weak moment. Maybe too much to spend on something that probably won't ever be used but my wife's money demands to be spent.

Nice, how thick is the blade?

Spine is about 3.25mm thick. It is a very slim package. A bit smaller than I expected overall, but really well put together.

    New knife

Came across a guy on Craigslist who makes knifes as a hobby in Frederick. Always been a fan of the tracker style knife. This is what I had him make. He is still finishing it. I’ll post more when I receive it.

You'd think so eh? Lots of Hype. Easily worth $500, maybe more. $900+, not so sure, but what do I know?

So the MSRP is not the street price? Looking at the photos, is it a laminate steel, or just how they fashioned the blade?

No name frame lock "Damascus" steel. Seems sturdy, sharp, and well balanced. Time will tell.

    Q

Yes, that's the street price. Unless you find one in stock somewhere you can get on a lottery system from Grimsmo directly. These are not discounted anywhere as it seems demand is greater than supply.

Grimsmo has a Youtube channel which is pretty interesting. They make everything in house, including the bearings. They have 2 models, the Norseman and the Rask AFAIK.

Not laminate, those lines are CNC'd in.

Cool, looks like the front could be used as a skinning knife as well.

Grimsmo Norseman. Now need to hide it from my wife before she starts asking questions.

Did she find it? That looks exactly like the one that is up for sale on BladeForms!

Nice piece though, I've been watching John since his early YouTube days and KMT series. Truly a 'started a company in my garage' effort with a product to be extremely proud of.

No, truth be told she probably wouldn't bat an eye, but why try it, right?
I like it but I keep seeing other blades I like also and thinking, "I could buy 3 of those for this one."
