Took my daughter and her best friend (both 18) to the NRA Range last night for an introduction to firearms. Props to the NRA RSO staff for treating the young ladies like the adults they are becoming. The safety briefings were on-point and serious, but not so much to be intimidating.
The overall experience was excellent, and I appreciated the ad-hoc instruction and the additional set of eyes on the new shooters - extra props for catching the potential for slide-bite with J that I missed while fielding questions from K.
We came away from the evening positive and bubbly. This first outing needed to be a "good thing," and I am certain it was. Many speculations about firearms were dispelled, and a solid first-hand experience replaced them. I have no doubt we will be going back.
