I wanted to go to the range today with another MDS member but that didn't happen so decided to do some gun porn.

Here are my Smith's. I collect Police/Military Trade-Ins and have never fired them, just collect. They show honest patina and wear.

    PLEASE post your S&W

S&W Model 39-2 (auto with wood grips)
    S&W Model 59 (black grips)
    S&W Model 65 (revolver)

Do you have a "gritty trigger"? Mine does and I was told it was normal.
There apears to be some wear related to the fit of the slide.

    Thanks

Yes, I noticed the same thing about the gritty trigger. There's a break-in period with the trigger and it smooths out over time. Mine has already improved and I've only put 100 or so rounds through her so far. Give it a little time, right out of the box it's very rough.

I would think that after 2000+ rounds it would have gone away. It has improved since new. Thanks for the feedback!

For those who like kiddie porn ...

    S&W 340PD J-Frame
The original "meant to be carried and not shot" 12-ounce pocket pistol.
5 shots of knuckle-bruising .357 magnums will cure you of any desire to shoot this gun.
Comes complete with Kramer Horsehide pocket holster. Fits perfectly in the back pocket of my biking jersey.

how much would one of those run for?

seems like it would be a nice pocket gun with big gun knock down power lol

only thing i dont like about it is the DA only action.. add a DA/SA trigger and some CTC lazer grips and i'd be good to go:)

I think I paid $800 for it, but it has been many moons since the purchase date. If I were right handed, I would have the CTC grips. However, I am not, and my left thumb obscures the laser imager. It sucks, the discrimination us southpaws have to endure.

If you are handy with some minor gunsmithing, have a couple sharpening and polishing stones, a micrometer, some jeweler's files and rouge, and a couple hours of patience to spare, this turns the gritty factory trigger into a different animal, just keep in mind it is much easier to take metal off than to put it back on. Or send it in, and they will do it for you.

And I'll put pics up tomorrow:D

Have you had any luck with burwell? I sent in a request for some work to be done to my MP9 and never heard back from them.

I would be remiss if I didn't add my own small contribution to this thread.

    Shown in my pics:

Pre-29, .44 Magnum, 6.5" barrel, made in 1956, SN S169XXX - about 2,000 guns after the change from 5 screw to 4 screw, but still in the first full production year. This gun was purchased brand new by my father in 1956, and as you can see from the pictures, it's been well used and abused. It would show even more wear than it does if not for periodic touch-ups with Brownell's Oxpho Blue.

Model 27-2 .357 with a 8 and 3/8 inch barrel, made early 80s. I purchased this gun about 6 months ago.

Model 18-2 .22 LR - not really too hip on this gun - it's not very accurate, so it's somewhat frustrating to use when punching paper at an indoor range, but I keep it because I inherited this one from my father too.
