    15 seconds.

Yeap, that is what I use.

Maybe once every year or so, I clean with solvent and a brush to remove plastic residue.

But day to day, the bore swab does the trick.

This is pretty much spot on. Way too many people set in the old ways. Most shotgun barrels are chrome lined nowadays. I cannot remember the last time I used a boresnake or a bristle brush on any of my shotguns. When I was young, my dad stressed cleaning the guns after each use. Now, I just rub down the exterior with oil and put them back in the safe if they have chrome lined barrels.

For my O/U I wipe down the metal with light oil (Rem Oil normally).

And swab the barrel with the swab Teratos showed.

    Done.

Works well, over many 10's of thousands of rounds.

Have to pull the barrel off my 1100 and 301 every bajillion rounds to clean the pistons anyway. My O//U and SXS don't need more than one wet and two dry patches a year. I'm lazy, but those cleaning shells take the cake.

Whats the proper way to clean the pistons on an 1100?
