I'm looking to build my first AR, and I was looking for some feedback on what everybody thinks is the best trigger for the money. I'm open to suggestions.

Depends on the application, desired pull weight, and whether you want single-stage or two-stage.

Go to dmps and grab 2 of the G2S that they have for 40 bucks off right now.

    Basically an SSA-E

Gonna disagree, G2S is better than a milspec trigger, but DEF not a SSAE

I haven't been disappointed with Rock River Arms NM 2 stage trigger for the money. However, after upgrading my SCAR 17 with the Super SCAR trigger, I'm willing to spend the extra $ and try their other offerings in an AR.

Larue is the best bang for the buck. You can get them for $100-$125 if you are willing to wait. Im not as fond of the flatter trigger face on the larues. Fantastic trigger though.

SSA-E geisseles when they are on sale run about $200

Dont get a pack trigger or single stage aftermarket unless its some paper plinker. They are not reliable for defensive use and when fouled heavily.

Until recently this was one of the few trigger upgrade options. Still a great choice over a stock GI trigger, and the price is good.

    I have 3 Geisseles SSA and SSA-E
Unless its half the price on an AR that I won't frequently use, I would not go any other way. Unfortunately, I'm spoiled with it.

HOWEVER, i'm intrigued with the thread. Curious to see what is out there that is dual staged with a light secondary if I have to help a bud with a lower budget build.

I have a few Geissele triggers. I like my B-GRF trigger. You can find them at Brownell's.

My recent experience with Rock River's NM triggers has been spotty. Some of them have needed a good deal of tuning to get them to where they should be. Pay a few extra dollars and get a Geissele. Buy once, cry only once.

Another one here for Geissele, I suggest the G2S for $120 I think they go for now. Also look at the ALG line, get the QMS for $49. Milspec trigger polished down to a nice 6 pound single stage trigger.

I put a Ruger Elite 452 MSR Trigger in my last build and am happy with it. paid $114 and it came with a selector switch and pistol grip.

99 out of 100 people who ask have already decided on what they are going to buy. They are not asking, they want confirmation of a decision they already made.

I have the opposite problem and can be swayed; I am actually thinking about getting one of these to replace my Timney trigger :D If it's nearly as good as a Giessle SSA, then $125 is a bargain.

[EDIT I have an SSA and love it - but not the price]
