Some people should not be allowed in the woods.
It is turtle egg laying time and in the state park I saw several this morning laying eggs in a grassy area, I have seen them there for several years about this time. I go back this afternoon and in the same area see a little girl about 8 or 10 years old stooped down with her father standing next to her. Yes she is trying to pet the snapping turtle, it was in the size range of about 6" X 10" to 9" X 12". I told her to be careful because they can bite and daddy says "Oh they do?". So I said "Yes the big ones can bite a broom handle in half and one that size could bite a finger off". They decided to move on. But it was obvious they did not know the first thing about wildlife.
I just hope they don't see any of those wild doggies, you know the ones that howl at the moon. Or one of those pretty black kitties with the stripe down it back.
