Absolutely correct. But Rs did have the votes to draft and modify bills in the Senate committee where there's no filibuster, and could have embedded pro 2A text in "must pass" bills. That wasn't done, not even once in 6 years.

Oh I agree with the overall sentiment 100%. Republicans spent the last two years acting like a group that didn't expect to win, found out they won and had no idea what to do with it and tried to throw something together overnight.

I've heard it said that Republicans dislike big government so much they don't know what to do when they're in control of it. Maybe some truth to that but what's happened is the concept of limited government has been lost on the GOP...they spent like drunken Democrats.

Even when out of power the Democrats act like they're in control and the Republicans cower.

This legislation won't have any impact on private sales in Maryland correct? Private sales were once legal in Colorado but that ended several years ago when the Democratically controlled state legislature decided it knows better than the citizens.

More laws making law abiding citizens criminals.

Maryland still allows private sales of long guns. HR8 would eliminate that and require all firearms sales to go through a licensed dealer.

Another impact of HR8: it makes the FFL 03 C&R license useless, except for face to face purchases at out of state dealers ( a very small percentage of C&R transactions, l would bet.)
