Very nice! Let us know how it shoots.

It shoots great! I expected it to have a slighter higher recoil than my brass Henry 30-30 with the octagonal barrel, but I think it actually shots softer. Probably because of the recoil pad.

Picked up something today ive been wanting for a long time. 1959 Winchester model 88 in 308. Ive always liked them and I find them to be very much like the Sako Finnwolf rifles.
I have a old friend that has a Sako and happens on here from time to time, If you see this post hit me up, id love to do a range trip and compare the two.

Beautiful rifle. Elegant lines. I have a Belgian-made Browning BLR in 308 that has the straight stock (vs the pistol grip that you have) from the early 1970s. It's sub MOA, and in very good condition, but man, yours is another level up.

Thank you, i told myself when i found one of these i would let go of one of my Savage 99's in 308, now i just need to decide which of the two to keep. :lol2:

Nice Dave!!! Beautiful pre-64 88! I own a post 64 in 308 that I would never part with! Picked it up a long time ago and have killed quite a few deer with it. It wears an older Leupold VXII 3x9-40. It shoots moa with the right ammo.

Nice and Thanks man ! I have always loved the styling on the Model 88's and wanted one for at least 5 years, just could never find the right one at a decent price. I got this one with two mags and it has the Pachmayr lo-swing scope mount and the bushnell scope that seems to be original to the rifle or at least period correct.

Went to the range this morning, and it just felt like a lever action day! Shot quite a few rounds through these today, and will have a sore shoulder tomorrow. A newer Marlin 1895 GBL 45/70 on the left, and a JM Marlin in 44 mag, on the right

Finally got my JM 1895ss back from the gunsmith. 16.25” barrel, target crown, very happy with the way it turned out.
