As many of you are aware, Annapolis has introduced several draconian bills that are a direct infringement of our 2nd Amendment rights.
Where HB1261 has rightfully a lot of attention right now, SB816 is equally serious legislation that will have a major impact on Firearm Dealers in the State of Maryland. Not only will it require large investments in secured fixtures, it will require all Maryland Dealers to record all transactions with Video And AUDIO surveillance and hold these records for a year. This severe invasion of privacy is not common place in any other industry.
The President of Atlantic Guns is also a founding member and current president of the Maryland Licensed Firearm Dealer Association (MLFDA). The organization was created in the early 1990s to bring Maryland Dealers together to address areas of mutual concern, such as restrictive 2nd amendment legislation. If any Maryland Dealer is interested in joining our cause please reach out to Steve@atlanticguns.com. All dealers should get behind a common cause to fight these severely restrictive bills against the 2nd Amendment.
We have already talked with legislators and lobbyist's in Annapolis and will be meeting in open and closed door meetings for the next couple weeks.
Along with Maryland Dealers we hope many Maryland Shooters Members will show up in Annapolis to testify as well. Please call your elected officials to urge them to vote no to the proposed legislation.
With a loud enough voice we can make a difference.
