Having more free time on my hands than I need, I was going through my safe. These three were sitting on the table together, and I thought they'd make a nice portrait. Show us yours. Top to bottom (all S&W): 686, 681, 66

I have owned a number of them and still have a couple including a custom 625 Mountain Gun that shoots .45ACP and .45Colt ammo. I never deliberately bought a gun because it was made of SS it just happened to be that is what was available or it was a good deal.

I have blued and stainless. I prefer stainless if it's Ruger or S&W. For Colts and SAA clones, it's always blued.

I have more blue, electroless nickel and nickel revolvers than stainless...but I do have a few to represent the stainless type...

Top row...Colt Anaconda 4" in .45 Colt...Colt Anaconda 4" in .44 Magnum...Colt Anaconda 6" in .44 Magnum...Colt Python .357. Below that is a Colt King Cobra Target 4" .357...Colt King Cobra 3" .357...Colt Cobra 2" .38 Special and at the bottom is a Ruger New Model Blackhawk 6.5" 10mm/.40 convertible.

One of my favorite guns to shoot is my S&W 64NY. I got it from JG Sales years ago and polished it up. Always brings a smile to my face.

SS revolvers have a special place in my heart. My first store bought gun was a 2" Model 64 around 1988. Simple but classy.

I like all my guns to be stainless steel. Blue plated guns usually have scratched surfaces. If going commando,I can tape them or wipe shoe polish to reduce the shine.

So true. A nicely blued and polished handgun is a work of art...but stainless is more practical.
