There is a pretty lively debate going on about this on FB. You would be surprised (or maybe you wouldn't) how many people think it is illegal to carry inside a bar.

Lots of people that own guns donít know all the laws. Itís not surprising that those that donít are just as (or more) ignorant of them.

Could be. Could also be that civilians are misinterpreting the airman's status and applying vernacular that they understand. I saw somewhere reported that he was off-duty federal law enforcement. There is a federal law somewhere that applied when SF was SP and there was a clear distinction between security and LE. LE were to have all rights and privileges of any other federal LE group but that is not how it was practiced. Now though, they qualify for LEOSA so it probably depends on the current whim of command.

Defensor Fortis.

Bad guy with gun shouldn't have even been on the street. Burglary, rape, felon in possession of firearm (can we say nolle....shocking, I know).

It apparently was originally reported that way. The paper mentioned in the article that it was a mistake and apologized for the error.

Congrats to the Air National Guardsman for his actions and his safety.
Frosh is not the State's Attorney. Frosh is the Attorney General. There is a difference.
