    I have neighbors who think coyotes (and even foxes) hunt in packs and I know fox do not and am pretty sure coyotes do not either ...

    One fox may encounter a prospective prey it cannot handle itself - like a coon or cat (house cat size, not mountain lion), and it will call in other fox to gang up on and kill the prey. I am told coyotes will behave in a similar manner.
