The only Citi-related card I have is one issued by my employer that I'm forced to use while on business trips. If anyone decides to take a principled stand and close their personal cards I recommend when you do so that you tell them why, otherwise simply closing the card is less effective.

If the GOP had any spine whatsoever, they'd put a stop to this. The large banks that interface with the Fed and rely on FDIC insurance are very intertwined with the federal government, and Congress could easily put a stop to it if it wanted.

Fine with me. I can always use another new card signup bonus from another company.

While this seems to be aimed at Citigroup's corporate partners, their policy is still wholesale age discrimination - refusal to sell a legal-to-buy product/service to an individual solely on the basis of that person's age.
Edward Skyler, an executive vice president at Citigroup who helped craft the policy, wrote in a blog post that [...] the policies are “not centered on an ideological mission to rid the world of firearms.”

Oh yes they are. Because once the civil rights lawsuits start rolling in, Citigroup's lawyers will point out that the "restriction on age" is the problem, and the problem can be eliminated by removing that specificity ... just prohibit corporate partners' sale of firearms to anyone.

If the SCOTUS would have taken these 2A cases years ago this would be a non-issue. The tail is wagging the dog at this point.

Man, I wish I was 20 again (for many reasons) but I would be jumping on ever band wagon lawsuit out there. Citibank, Walmart, Dicks, etc. I wouldn't put it by Maryland to change it's anti discrimination laws to exclude firearms purchases but not every state is going to do that.

Does Citigroup check with pharmacies to make sure the prescriptions they fill aren't expired or counterfeit?

Does Citigroup check with bars to make sure their customers aren't inebriated before they pay their check and get behind the wheel?

Drug overdose and auto accident deaths exceed firearms deaths, don't they?

One thing to note is that Citi shouldn't have any businesses that sell firearms without a background check. If they are legally licensed to sell firearms, they have to be going through NICS for sales.

So this policy is only about the age limits which is pretty clearly discrimination.

EDIT: Didn't read the part about standard capacity magazines. If this all pans out I will be calling to cancel my citi bank credit cards.

Yes, but the unconstitutional shlt-sandwich is easier to get the proles to swallow if it's wrapped in a delicate coating of "for the children" and "good corporate citizenship."

What kind of rifle is this?! Between the stock and full barrel suppressor with the scope attached to it, I might have found a new one for my collection!

Dont give them ideas. They also have an environmental policy.

Thanks to Dodd-Frank and the bailouts, banks are a de facto agency of regulators and the US govt. Once you've taken bailout money from the Treasury and Fed, you really cannot say no.

Looks like the evil military assault-style stock attaches directly to the rear of the clipazine, and the barrel to the front. Good god, there's no receiver! It's a gun that's not a gun! AAAAAAAAAH!!

(I'm willing to bet it only fires armor-piercing cop-killer bullets purchased exclusively through the gun show loophole, too.)

Citigroup’s gun policy has “been a while coming,” its chief executive, Michael L. Corbat, told The New York Times Thursday. Mr. Corbat, who called himself “an avid outdoorsman and responsible gun owner,” acknowledged that “some will find our policy too strict while others will find it too lenient.”

    Gee, aren't they all?? :sad20:

Guess I know which credit card will be getting paid off as quickly as possible, followed by sending the shredded pieces in a personally addressed letter to Mr. Corbat.

Just cancelled account after 15 years as a card holder.

Will get the NRA card when they find a new bank.

And neither side should like this...what would the left do if Bank of Texas cut off all abortion related payments?
