Kbar is camillus, Has later guard so i believe 60's era. Book was just cool.

Point of order! That's not a Kabar...that's what's commonly referred to as the Jet Pilot Survival Knife or Jet Pilot Knife (JPK). :D I tlooks to be a 5" blade, so definitely 1961 or later....Is it marked on the pommel or the blade? Blade marked would be 1961-1966, while pommel would be 1967 to present. [[edit to add: ok, thinking about it, it's probably not pommel marked cuz those include the year...]]

It looks to be in outstanding shape, so a VERY good deal, indeed!

(Sorry for nerding out...I've been super into military knives for the past year or two...)

Its on the pommel, dated 3-67, I didnt notice the name or date it when i bought it, it was on the other side of the table near the seller at the estate sale. i asked my wife to tell me what it said going down the road, i dont remember her saying a date. but she told me the name. i was more preoccupied with finding lunch and getting back home to the kid.

I dont think i said this in the previous post but I bought that Photo for my buddy who is currently stationed in Italy in the Navy. I think he would like it. Also since buying it , it turns out its a 1905 Lithograph by Charles Allen Gilbert. Anyway He doesnt know its coming, I just filed out the customs paperwork tonight, gonna try and send it off this week.

Very nice, I like that. One further collection to guns is the collection of original lithographs from the period of the Spanish American War. Didn't mean to steal your thread.

Nice, I am always looking for things like that when at the estate sales, problem is knowing what is real Vs repro. I bought that little pic for 4.00 so i didnt care either way as i was just sending it to a friend as a gift. I dont know the true value of it but i did see that some of his work sells for 200.00, It doesnt matter what its worth honestly, I bought it for him and i mailed it off this morning.

Is that the Trapdoor I saw at A1 last week?

Is that an original scope on the A4?

Nope, not the same trapdoor , I got this one from my buddy in Bowie Area, and the A4 is a Gibbs, but i got it at a extremely good price, Good enough i expected to loose my money and never hear from the guy again but I had to take the chance.

Not a C or R firearm but it can be used in one. I just got a nice box of FN-produced 7x57. Made for the Venezuelan army in 1936. I’m told that this is very good ammo. J&G Sales has it for $29 a box. I’ll probably keep this to go with my Venezuelan FN Model 1930 and shoot a later-produced box for fun.

Thank you, I Got it with a bag of goodies. Its still in 7.5 French

The French always had the goodies, cant imagine hauling all of it in the field. Shoulder protectors, tools, night sights. The trick with these is to get one with the stuff with it, particularly the night sight and scope mount.

Pretty sure the kit includes the night sight, not sure about a scope mount. I will try to take a pic tomorrow.

Beautiful lithographs. TR was one hell of a Asst Sec of the Navy, pretty much put Dewey's fleet and the Atlantic fleet in the right places at just the right time at a period where the logistics of coaling made that much tougher than you could imagine. All of this only hours after taking office!
If I could clone any ex president and put him into the WH it would be TR. A man of incredible foresight and willpower. Sadly there are few like him in today's world. Perhaps the world has degraded to a point there there are few who could appreciate him.

Also love the 49/56! You got exactly what I recommend to anyone looking for a 49/56; the full spares pack. No scope mount but lots of accessories and spares along with an original manual. In my eyes probably worth $100-150 easily. Think these would be so much more popular if inexpensive 7.5 French was available. One heck of a good MBR.
