A slight change up on some other threads.

But what is a gun you HAD to have, then once you got it, you wished you had never heard of it. :)

For me, one was an AMT BackUp. One of the first small carry pistols. .380

But made of SS, so HEAVY. Neat, but no real purpose these days.

At least I got it for a good price. Complete with box and instructions.

Def was not a “had to have” but most certainly a “wish I didn’t”.

This is the red headed step child of my collection that my fiancé brought into the picture from before we met. It was almost a dealbreaker.

This was her nightstand gun living in Baltimore when I’d come visit. That changed immediately.

It’s also the only gun I own with these stupid locks on it in my safe, as a reminder to never take it out aside to make someone laugh. I’ve lost the key.

I can’t in good conscious sell it either.

EDIT: It's a Cobra FS380. One can be yours right now on Gunbroker for about $71.

I had one of those too. Heavy for what it was.

I had one of those years ago but sold it. Here lately I've been thinking of looking for another one, for nostalgia

    S&W mdl 39-2.

    What a POS!!!!!!!
Sent it back to S&W twice.

    Jam-O-Matic.

It would not feed/fire/cycle a full magazine without jamming.
    I shot it.
A couple of friends shot it.
A State Trooper watched what was happening (at the old Maryland Small Arms Range) and looked interested in what was going on, so, I let him shoot it.
    Same crap.

Nobody could get this thing to 'run' properly. Changed magazines. Same thing.
Tried some guy's magazines at the range. Same thing.

Changed ammo. Tried multiple brands/types/bullet weights. Standard loads. +P. +P+.
    Nothing worked.

Smith said, "No issues found." Twice.

Sold it at a loss. Didn't care. Just wanted rid of that POS.

Damn knock off Glock! It doesn’t even say glock in it. Just “OCK”.

Bad jokes, but a funny story!

So small and so finicky and finding and the expense of the 32 Silvertips
I would rather carry my Ruger LCP 380

Almost any AR, I decide I have to have one, buy it and after awhile realize I just don't like them, sell it and start all over again. Only one I have kept is a big huge varmint AR built by Fulton that is very accurate.

I bought an AMT back up ( covina calif) with the clear grips in the mid 80s. Decent gun for fishing while wading. Until you had to shoot it. Galled steel on steel. Sent it bck a couple of times.Put it in the safe in a nice alessi holster and finally sold it 3-4 years ago to a gun shop. Pretty good idea for its time. .25 cal size, more than less, and packed a punch.
The only gun I have wanted to sell or trade was a glock 27 i bought in the 90s. Soon after i thought i should have bought a g26. I still have the 27 20+ years later and bought a wolf 9mm barrel and a couple of G26 mags. Still think of selling it, had it on consignment last year. Will probably have it forever.

My BIL bought an AMT Backup .380 for my sister as a nightstand gun (he didn’t ask my brothers or me for our input). She could hardly pull the 15lb trigger on the thing and the recoil hurt her when she did manage. Accuracy was crap and reliability was questionable. POS is right!

Traded for Glock 26s two separate times. I liked the idea of its size for a carry piece. Fired the first one I received and absolutely hated it from the first shot. Traded it away. Later I traded something for a different G26 thinking I might like it this time around. NOPE. Luckily traded it away even quicker.
