My brother is looking to vacation in Bermuda - fly down then rent a boat. He wants to take a couple guns with him. Reading on line what I see is that as a tourist it is easier to do but residents are nearly impossible to possess.

Anyone ever traveled there and brought a gun that could go over the procedures or at least point in the right direction. Thanks

FIREARMS PENALTIES: The Department of State warns U.S. citizens against taking any type of firearm or ammunition into Bermuda. Entering Bermuda with a firearm, some kinds of knives or even a single round of ammunition is illegal, even if the weapon or ammunition is taken into the country unintentionally. The Bermudian government strictly enforces its laws restricting the entry of firearms and ammunition. Permission to import or own a gun in Bermuda must be sought in advance from the Bermuda Police Service (http://www.police.bm/). Any privately owned firearms must be secured at Bermuda Police Headquarters. Violations may result in arrests, convictions, and long prison sentences.
