Howard County Rec & Parks to hold public hearing on converting the lower hockey rink at Alpha Ridge Park into semi-permanent, fenced, target archery range.

Sign up to speak up until 6:30pm the night of the meeting on February 19.

I assume the deer population is increasing in Howard County. With more people interested in archery, can this mean some of them may take up bow hunting? More hunters must mean good things for firearm ownership, might'en it?

Also, does anyone have a handle on the number of people who convert from archery to firearms? I'm wondering if enough people start archery, does that translate into people being more amenable to firearm ownership? Remember, this is liberal HQ - baby steps are needed for firearm ownership...

I started with firearms and then went to archery to get more days in the field. Then, I learned about waterfowling and the bow has been collecting dust. Been thinking about getting back into it though.

I live right down the road from Alpha Ridge. I could probably practice with the bow in my backyard, but don't really want to possibly upset the neighbors. Alpha Ridge isn't too far from AGC, which also has an archery range, and I am going to join AGC this spring. Guess it will give me two options based upon how crowded either is.
