That is if they put a serial # on it. If they simply put BURT'S IMPORT EMPORIUM RUN BY DRUNK MONKEYS is messing with that an issue?

I have seen FFL's remove those in the past. Again, not messing with the serial number which I would not do for anything.

    That is NOT an issue.

It is if you try to pass off a collectible gun as a non-import marked one :)
For instance I've seen some rare P.38's that were reported as import-marked, pop up later as non-import with the markings mysteriously gone (with thousands of $$ difference in price).

    I don't think that's really an issue with a CZ-82 though...
Still boggles my mind someone got it designated as C&R but whatev's as the kids say.

Thanks for the tips guys! I scored one off of Gunbroker. More than I wanted to pay and literally a few days before Mosin Crate posted his sale. I will try and snag another cleaner example and some more mags in the future. I almost got one of the Mosin Crate's 82s - if the one guy passed on it I would have had it.

The one I got shoots well - very impressed with accuracy- but the import marks look like they were done with the worlds oldest electro pencil twice.
I will probably try to find a cleaner example. It just feels right in hand.

I am new to the C&R surplus disease and had forgotten about the polygonal rifling and was concerned for a few minutes until a quick search allayed my fears.
I was also impressed with the trigger pull. Thankfully nothing like my P64.

I don't know the availability in .363 hollow points these days but I have used Speer Gold Dots through both my Makarov's and CZ-82's. Not hollow points but the Buffalo Bore Tempered Cast bullets and the Hornady Critical Defense both shoot well out of my CZ's.

I carry one while working in the woods on my property. I painted the front sight insert Int Orange and it makes it easy to pick up. I also put a Wolff extra power recoil spring in it as I do shoot the Buffalo Bore loads and they are hot. ;)

FYI - AIM Surplus has some CZ82's in stock now. I just got a flier from them.

Suddenly a bunch of stuff is available. Dang limited funds!

I think for me it still comes down to the magazine issue. Such a pain to get them and just to get ONE mag with it, it means driving out of state to get it (and most aren’t going to ship it separate to out of state).

I think a Cz82 is still one of those guns I’ll try to track down out of state some day.

I have one I would sell. It has been blued and has custom wood grips and Wolff springs. The three factory mags would have to be shipped out of state. I would let it go for tree fiddy.

You selling it to the Loch Ness Monster?

Or you could meet for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, 236 Pauline Dr, York, PA 17402 for the purpose of dispossessing yourself of the magazines. I’m pretty sure that only an 01 FFL can ship the magazines from MD.

I think that’s a very good deal. Normally, I would say that anything which has been messed with isn’t worth much but, in the case of a Cz82 and after holding one in my hands, I’d almost pay more for one that has been stripped of that god-awful plastic dip and blued. If I were in the market, I’d be meeting you at the Cracker Barrel.
