Supposedly, FA has said it has nothing to do with the trigger. Speculation is on rifling that's not "rifling"?
They also have supposedly confirmed it's not a smooth bore either.

I'm betting it all has to do with the trigger.
My theory too. In semi fires on release. Skirts the definition.
If this is the case, who would be comfortable with a trigger that operate in a manner that is inverse from convention? If one did become comfortable with it I anticipate that transition back to a conventional firearm could potentially lead to a "negligent discharge" when one is used to a 'fire-on-release' trigger.
This may be the answer, but it's still a terrible idea. There's no way I'd want a gun that was that much different from every other gun I've ever shot.
What about putting these straight grooves in a shotgun?

Why, when you can just get a slug barrel?
This product fails harder than a takita airbag
So you can have a stocked firearm chambered in shotgun shells with a barrel under 18" without a tax stamp.
