A bit of a cross posting from another thread, but figured these shots of our new his & hers CZs would be a good fit in this thread, too.

What grips do you have on the one with the Shadow slide? They are really sharp!

The Shadow 2 is the basic black version, so those are the stock aluminum grips there. The Tac II has that model’s standard grips as well. They’re a hard rubber type material. If we ever change those out it’ll be because the Mrs (that’s her gun) wants something more whimsical. But she says she really likes the stock ones so far.

I just wish CZ would find another word they like as much as 'Shadow' for their pistols? I've lost count of how many different models use the 'Shadow' designation and trying to keep track of which is which will definitely drive you

That Tac II is a nice pick-up! You don't see them all that often and if that one got the spa treatment from CZ Custom, yikes, me likey!

It did get the full massage, hair coloring, and mani-pedi. The test target, with trigger pull stats, etc., has one hole, which is probably the only time it will shoot like that, given we're normal people :)

Looks like it wandered through the custom shop in April 2018, and had been lurking in my LGS's inventory for almost a year. They like CZ pistols, and keep them on the pegboard along with an ocean of Glocks, Rugers, S&Ws and the rest - but the CZs are sort of just lurking there, and they're not at all aggressive on the pricing. They do sell their Shadow 2 stock more or less as fast as it comes in.

This Tac II's tag price was within $50 of anything I could find looking around, since they're hen's teeth. Couldn't complain! I try really hard to keep local stores in receipt of my gun money when it's an option - it's nice not to have to do the shipping/FFL dance.

So does anyone know why the Orange Shadow 2 is almost twice the cost of the Blue Shadow 2 ??

Well, that's a Shadow Orange SP-01 in the pic but the Shadow 2 Orange is similar in that it has the same kind of modifications: polishing of all internals, hand-fitted barrel and slide (also polished), trigger job, barrel bushing, extended firing pin, custom 'ghost' hammer, etc.

The black/blue Shadow 2 is a factory production gun without all the extra 'custom' goodies.

Well, keep in mind that CZ Custom does all of their test-firing from a Ransom Rest so the test target that came in the box with your Tac II wasn't achieved by a normal person, either.

That's because CZ has done a pretty good job promoting the Shadow 2, unlike their other guns. The only other pistol I've seen CZ promote better than the Shadow 2 was the P-10C. Both have great market awareness. The Shadow Tac II? Buyers will confuse it for either a Shadow 2 or a Shadow SP-01 because CZ names every other gun they build a, 'Shadow' something-or-other. That Tac II sitting in someone's inventory for a year+ is unconscionable.

Fvck GB. It's strictly a last-resort for me now. I use two local FFL's and if something's available, they can usually get it for me. ;)

Thank you for clarification. I saw 1 at my local dealer, and they couldn't explain to me the price difference other than it was orange lol.

Nice score. I haven't bought any firearms in a long time, but I always have my eye out for a PCR. That's one I really want.

Seldom seen, that's for sure. That CZ box in the background looks like it's from the 1980's, possibly around the same time I picked-up my first 75 (pre-B). If that one is yours, you own a true unicorn. That's gotta be one of the earliest Kadet .22 conversion kits I've ever seen.

Actually, it's not a conversion kit at all. It's a straight-up 22 cal, out-of-the-box CZ pistol; frame was never anything but a 22. That's the real unicorn factor.
