Do you happen to know if the M96 rear sight assembly is interchangeable with a Stoner 63? Sight over bore for alignment with the front sight, attach bolt spacing, etc.? I am looking for a M96 rear sight and I have found a guy who makes Stoner 63 sight sheet metal flats. I would have to bend and complete the assembly but it's at least a start.

I really should finish this. I kinda' just stopped. I've got a bunch of pictures of the receiver details and an entire set side by side comparison pictures between the M96 and a Stoner 63

I don't mean to hijack this thread but...

I thought I would share what I found out to maybe help others in the future. My rifle came with a full length upper rail and no rear sight. After a futile attempt to locate a proper sight, I started playing around with looking for something that would work. What I found was that a Fightlite MCR rear sight works perfectly. It installs with a vertical set screw and slides onto the Picatinny rail. It was just what I needed. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet but I got out the laser boresight and it looks to be right on. I didn't even have to adjust it. I also think it kind of fits right in aesthetically. It's design looks like it belongs. I could not be happier. Of course the downside is that the Fightlite rear sight is also expensive and hard to come by. LOL Hope this helps someone down the road.
