Seems like with all of the recent development back in the swamp (Conway/Greys Ford/Meyers Station/Patuxent Road), there would be way too much whining to run a dragstrip. As long as Capitol has been closed, many of them did not 'move to the nuisance' and might have a legit beef about the noise.
Capitol Raceway closed in 2018, I believe it was.
75-80 has been closed since 2005.
I'd think the whiner majority would be at 75-80.

We moved to FredCo in 2009, and used to listen to 75-80 from our back yard. Didn't last long, tho.

Capitol was closed at the end of 2019.
75/80 was reopened for a few years and shut down again
I knew I was close.
Well, hopefully in 2021, they'll both be back to racing.
FWIW, Today is 1st day of Cecil County Dragway's re-opening, after an un-scheduled closing and major resurfacing job.

They're going to continue working Monday. No new official date.
Bummer, it's a beautiful day. Would've been an awesome evening at the track with the family.

Any updates on 75/80
Supposed to start back on it again Monday, according to guy who's trying to open it.
Capitol, on the other hand, has been reopened now, for a few weeks.
A bit disorganized still, but getting better. Already had their first grudge race fight in the pits, lol.

Drove by today. Excavator behind the north-side bleachers still is hovering over a pile of debris. Doesn't quite look ready for prime-time yet.

Apparently he was trying to open this without the blessing of FredCo's elite, and that created some problems...hence not opening at the original date. Hopefully he's back on track, but I spoke with someone "in the know" recently who said there's no way it will ever open back up. Which would be a real shame, both for the general public and the people fronting the money to get it up and running.

75/80 has been closed several years longer than Capitol and obviously needs/needed a LOT more effort to get it back to any sort of standard. The initial hold-up was supposedly a permit issue.
But...I have no doubt a bunch of assholes in the area would rather the place just sit there, dormant...
