They seem to be heavier on the range time vs other carry classes in the area. Any good or bad experiences?

Are you talking about the Hunter Safety course at North Harford Game and Fish?
If so 2 of my kids took their Hunter Safety there 7or 8 years ago and I have no complaints.

Not quite, I'm looking at the company in Whiteford, they do MD & UT CHL, carbine classes, etc.
Not a company, an instructor who has a group that offers training.

I haven’t read anything about their classes, but it’s my understanding that the hql and w&c type courses have a fair amount of “lecture” time.

I think the lecture time is required. Apparently the minimum is 25 rounds at a target with 70% success rate. We fired over 350 rounds during our day. The instructions were very good and I learned a lot in a short period of time. Highly recommended. I don't know if I can advertise for him so send a PM and I'll fill you in
