Annapolis (AAFG) Patriot's Day Weekend Project Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Clinic
Twelve fellow Americans came out for our Patriot's Day event at the Anne Arundel Fish and Game (AAFG) Conservation Association in Annapolis, MD, for the weekend Project Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Clinic.
Shooters were eager to hear the story of April 19th, 1775... and we told them!
Weather on Saturday was wonderful, 85 degrees and sunny. Sunday, however... what a slap in the face - 42 and raining.
Jim T re-qualified with 220 and a 232, and cleared his AQT! Having just put up a 234 with iron sights in the previous Appleseed, Jim earned his distinguished Front-sight patch! Great job. One of our instructors (Aninha) jumped in on the line to shoot, and her rifle had been "adjusted" by a student. Ana fired one set of sighters, dialed in the numbers from a quick IMC review for the group, and then put up a 226. That's how it's done!
So in spite of rough weather on Sunday during the AQT grind, smiles and a teachable attitude were the norm. It was fun group. After wrapping up the history, we then did our last Redcoat of the day, framed the weekend, and cleaned up.
Two Riflemen re-qualified, two front-sight patches, and "Schooner" stepped up to take an Orange hat. Huzzah!
For those that didn't earn a Rifleman score yet:
A Rifleman Persists!
Thank you very much to our host range, the Anne Arundel Fish and Game (AAFG) Conservation Association. Check out their website
And last but not least, many thanks to my fellow instructors ABCgarand, FlintLocke, CatGravity and Aninha. Our Instructor's hard work, and professional demeanor made this a safe and fun shoot.
