    The origional full strength GCA68 really did suck, both in its intentions, and in sloppy language. It was targeted from its passage, and took 18 yrs to get "fixed" by FOPA .
    I'm idealogue enough that the ammendments turned me against it, but even today 95% of gunowners would throw machinegunners under the bus the same way. Trying to convince the public of the injustice of ban on new machine guns is like pointing out the unfairness of various anti child porn laws.

    Just makes me wish I had liquidated other assets to invest in machine guns in 1985.

    and suggestions that no 'reasonable' gun owner wants a 'silencer.' The same congressman states that 'silencers' are for 'contract killings.'

    Funny thing is, in England (and some other european places) suppressors are considered to be 'courteous to your neighbors'.
    In those countries, it is considered rude to shoot unsuppressed.

    If only it were that way here.
