    Benefits of carrying a revolver:

    1) It will never experience a failure to feed or eject costing you valuable time in a gunfight.

    2) No casings to pick up before leaving a scene should the situation warrant.

They can and do have failures, especially lightweight snubbies where bullet pull under recoil will lock the cylinder along with all the mechanical issues they can have. Where an auto might be more prone to a jam(more so older designs than modern striker fired), they are also more likely to be able to be fixed right then and there with a failure drill, tap-rack-bang, then if still down, strip mag, clear, reload, rack bang. The failure drill for a revolver is much simpler, pull the trigger again, if no bang, and the cylinder won't open, basically throw it at the bad guy, because it's only useful as a brick without tools.
