My dog is the best ground hog hunter I've had. She killed 6 from my shed last year. They are either all gone or haven't come out yet because once they do, she spends her day sniffing under the shed.

My 3 dogs will only corner a ground hog, they have no idea how to go in for the kill. My pit bull even ran away when I showed him this one in the cage yesterday. :sad20: Thing was a little feisty.

we got some California ground squirrels they call whistlepigs. They are a lot smaller than ground hogs but just as fun to shoot. We do have rock chucks which basically look the same as ground hogs but I think they are cousins or something weird.

    Ground hog skull

I found this a couple years ago. Normally I just find the skull but this time I found the skull and both lower jaws.
Look how long the bottom front tooth are when it slides out of the lower jaw.
One day I plan on attaching the bottom jaws back on the skull so it's mouth opens and closes.

thats cool find...just use some super glue by the attachment at the front of the jaw and it holds good. Ive done a few with just super glue one bear and 2 deer jaws and it holds well.

My hound broke one's back last year and I had to finish it off with a 22.He'll kill any furry thing he can catch.

I saw this today while working. Always liked the old stangs. This has a 289 with a 4 speed. I think it's from 1965.

Working in the garden last night and suddenly I heard some commotion back behind my shed. This one was a female so hopefully that is the last one that needs dealt with.

Picked this one off last week. He is one of 5 that need to be removed. They are digging on a hillside and undermining a retaining wall.

Gotta wait till July 1st here in PA till I can use my AR's for them. Gonna work up and test some loads in the meantime. Might even load up some .308 for them just to see how it does.

After the two that I nailed this spring, I haven't seen a single one on my back 40. I'm sure more will move in soon, but for now, seems my garden is safe.

Got a few living under my shed, been there several years. Not doing any damage around here, so I'm letting them be.

I have the same; living under my sheds. As long as they're behaving... they shall be left to their own devices...
