I'm still at a loss as to why we made a resort island a state.

Native Hawaiians come from a warrior people. The concept of Mana is one where spiritual energy can be gained through warfare/violence (or sex). Interestingly, the Hawaiian god Ku was the deity of both war and politics... go figure.

My point being, is that this is not a culture of hoplophobes. What we are seeing in HI, is more evidence of what happens when you coalesce a critical mass of liberals.

Different culture, different attitude. They are archer warriors, not shooters. Still warriors, and concurrently hoplophobes.

I hate Hawaii, I really do. The people are a$$holes, prices are outrageous and there's nothing there I can't see on any other Pacific island (besides the USS Arizona).

Not everyone in Hawaii is an a$$hole, you need to think of it as the Maryland of the Pacific. I could say the same about Maryland being full of A-holes (look at the MGA). There are good people there, but the Libs have turned it into a ********. My parents and family vote, but it is like here in MD.

Except most Hawaian women don’t look like that.

They look like big fatassed spam eating sumo broads.

    And they’re straight communists, too.

I think Hawaii should go back to having a King. They need someone in charge who will tell them what and how much they can eat, who or IF they can marry, and decide who gets tossed into a lava flow to appease Pele.

That’s what they need. And what they deserve.

AIUI Guam is or was also of strategic importance so I don't know what made Hawai'i more special...

Well, Hawaii is stronger. Guam has that problem where if you put too many US Marines and their stuff on one end of it, the island might tip over and capsize. At least that's the concern of Democrat congressman Hank Johnson, from Georgia. No, really. He actually said that.

Beat me to it, Occam, lol. Besides, we have the volcano on one side keeping the islands from tipping over, and making new real estate as we go.

Has anyone watched Hawaii 5-0 lately, and see how dangerous that state is? No wonder they want to repeal the 2A. McGarrett is not gonna be able to save the islands himself forever. Repeal the 2A, and all the bad guys will have to turn in their guns. Duh

normally id say yup, but think about it. other folks probably say the same about us and our state. there are probably a lot of folks behind enemy lines there, just like here.

where is Fred with the 2 state solution proposal???

I say we have an amendment to get rid of HI. Why is it a state? Its in the middle of the Pacific. I could see the need 60 to 70 years ago, but we don't need a base in the middle of the ocean anymore. Maybe keep it as a territory.

Not to anyone in particular, but something to keep in mind is that some of the most committed and effective 2A warriors emerge in the places with the biggest infringements. We have our own MDS member Wolfwood that is actively engaged in the fight against "never" issue in Hawaii, and the Supreme Court recently agreed to hear a case from NYC that limits transport of firearms to only the 7 gun ranges in the city. Significant SC victories for 2A rights emerged due to 2A warriors in Washington DC and Chicago. Thus while we might get upset with the legislative actions (supported by a majority of the local electorate) in places like Hawaii, California, New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Maryland - in each of these states there are also good folks on the front lines fighting for our collective rights (at times) and advancing them.
