My 2 cents: that whole area is gentrifying. I have driven those same streets a number of times in the past year and didn't think it was a "bad" neighborhood, through it sure was 25 years ago.

You cannot carry in the museum if you decide to carry in VA.

Holy Necro post first of all......2nd of all.....what brings you to MDShooters just to post about one single post from 2016. 3rdly....who says that all crimes are reported? I have to get stuff from the DC Lowe's for my Gaithersburg store all the time and I get in and get the hell out of dodge each time I'm there. That area is rife with people "Hanging out" all day in front of corners just reading their bibles and helping out the community:rolleyes: Attempts are being made to gentrify the neighborhoods and bring values up and overall bettering of the area but it is still a pile of crap area.

Re: Necro post - It was on the front page when I got here. Sorry I can't post on a thread from the front page I guess? Lol at you saying "from 2016" like it's so far away. It was from December 26th, less than 2 months.

Re: Reason for being here - I was looking around for how long it generally takes an HQL to clear and I wandered into here because I live in MoCo and was curious what y'all were talking about. Should I work on being more of an echo chamber for you?

Re: Unreported crime - There's a chance it was unreported. That would mean that the church, the 7-11 across the street, the Rite Aid up one block, the Fire and EMS station on the corner, and also the Community Rec center would all have to turn a blind eye to "at least a dozen shots" fired and active shooters running around. There's also the much more likely chance that this guy is full of crap and making up fantasy stories about gunfights that never happened for whatever disturbing reason.

It being a piece of crap neighborhood is not being denied. What's being denied is that he was caught in the middle of a shootout and somehow found the clarity to spot the way the "black hoods" were holding their pants with one hand, and then find the humor after to deliver sick one-liners about rolling a 9 or whatever.

Nope, you should try introducing yourself before you roll in here shooting off at the mouth about someone you don't know and calling them a liar.

Sounds fair, Id stash and lock in truck. Is Dulles on par with the GREAT one downtown?

I also want to go to Dayton and Pensacola.

depends if there is a specific aircraft you want to see. The Enola Gay is in VA.

The museum has a ton of aircraft in it.

Okay, I will "temper my dogs".

Hi, I'm WrecksBoxOne. I live in MoCo and I'm well-educated, and my wife and I make a crap ton of money. I'm also jacked as heck. Wanted to get a gun because I enjoy shooting them at the range and I wanted to pick up a new hobby. Happy to be here on the prestigious MDShooters forums, specifically the Capital Area subforum, a place where likeminded individuals can share stories about REAL THINGS THAT TOTALLY HAPPENED around my area of residence. Glad to be here guys, looking forward to hanging with y'all and shooting the sh*t.

Funny thing, when I came back from the Vietnam War, the first place I wanted to see was the Castle (the aviation museum then) and Ocean City was number two. They represented being back in the "World" to me. My folks and friends thought I was crazy and maybe I was at the time.

While you really should see both, the Udvar Hazy Center is much bigger. Additionally, they have moved most of the Silver Hill restoration facilities to Dulles as well. (you have to pay extra for the tour)

Back in the day, Paul Garber gave me and my wife a private tour.. He taught me how to research the Smithsonian micro fiche database and taught me odd facts like how you started the Junkers Jumo 004 engine in a remote location. I sure miss that old man.

Dayton will take you a week to absorb and you still won't see it all. If you get to Pensacola, see if you can get into Hurlbert Field just up the road a piece. Its the home of the 1st Special Operations Wing and has some neat stuff. I don't know if you can still drive through Eglin AFB, that is where we did weapons training many years ago.

It's not a battle, I just think a little respect goes a long way when it comes to members who've been around a while. And are brave enough to admit when there's a problem.

If "Wrecksbox" were in charge of keeping our streets safe, we'd be up to our necks in gangbangin' Crips and Bloods and Bone Krew
