A friend of mine is a fabricator and has scrap steel. Mostly 3/8" and very flat.

He wants to make me some targets. I thought 8" square and round...what else is possible? Better? Anything in particular to be mindful of?

    thanks.

It all depends on you and what type of shooting you do.

I would get circles from 8 inch down to 2 inches. 8,6,4,3,2 inches and hang them from 2 chains (one at a time) and watch them move when they get hit. I find the 2 inch a good challenge with a rifle at 100 yards.

I will be setting most my metal up Friday and will try to post pictures so you can see what I have done. I just cut a 14 inch stop sign shape for pistols at 100 yards.
