There's a direct lineage from the Colt Model 1900 (.38 ACP) to the 1911...

I'm hoping to add a CCU to my small 1911 collection. I had a Kimber that I traded a few years ago. Now it's all Colt.

Picked this up a couple of weeks ago. It is a pleasure to shoot. It has devoured at least 12 different types of jhp from 165gr to 230gr to include +p stuff. My new favorite 1911.

Latest pick-up - Dan Wesson Specialist Commander .45

I've always preferred the Commander over the standard-size 1911's for their balance. This DW is incredibly well balanced.

I'm a big fan of my specialist. Trigger keeps getting even better. Only one fail to feed on some bad reloads. Ate the rest of them. Otherwise reliable for over 1000 rds with all manner of magazines. Nice looking specialist sir.

Thanks! I've put 300 rounds of factory ammo thru mine, so far, without issue. Had I previously known how good the DW 1911's were I definitely would've picked one up a long time ago. :D

Silverback in .45 is on my radar.

This is my newest 1911. It's a Turkish Tisas that has been customized by Zenith firearms. They take the basic pistol and polish the internals, set the trigger over travel and reset, crown the national match barrel, add a flared mag well, use a full length guide rod, tweak the barrel bushing fit, put on a fiber optic front sight, and Duracoat the finished product in any one or two colors you want. Range report next week.

It's a sad day when we can't even keep the 1911 porn thread on the front page.

This brand new Guncrafter No Name came in today. It's a government 45 with some nice options. It's in our IP section for sale.

Range report next week.

Follow-up: Ran into an issue at the range. Accuracy was incredible, but I was experiencing "nosediving" after the first round on all three magazines that came with the pistol. A close inspection indicated that the internal projection of the slide stop was too long and was coming in contact with the nose of the next cartridge causing the nosedive. Zenith responded immediately by sending me a return authorization and I got the pistol back one week to the day after sending it in. They replaced the slide stop, test fired the pistol with all three magazines and it worked flawlessly. The note they returned with the test report said they sent along two extra magazines "due to my inconvenience". I'm a satisfied customer.
