1000 Ft!
It cost me 7000 back in 2006 to go to 385, I can't imagine how much it would cost to drill one to 1000.

Had my replaced a couple years ago. They said 12 years is about average. Mine is 405' deep. I got about 20 yrs out of the original.
I think reading this thread was bad luck. My bladder tank just blew out. Now my pump is kicking on everytime i open a faucet. I have to handle that before my pump goes out. Sometimes they pull out sometimes they dont. Thats what worries me about well pumps.
Not only that, the banging off and on will cause scale and iron to loosen in the pipes and your water will be pretty bad. Run over to HD or Lowes and get a bladder, they are easy to install and you can charge it with a bicycle pump.
Yikes. Mine is original to the house. 32 years old. Guess I'd better start saving pennies.

Thats awesome. Mine was replaced last year, the date stamp on the pump was 1986.
I replaced one about 3 years ago at a commercial property I own, same thing, original (Gould) pump from 1986.
I have a feeling the Chinese POS I put down there will NOT make it another ~30 years like the original.
