I think it just means if the applicant has a defense contractor restriction, or wants one, he/she can speak more freely in a closed session. After all, these are public hearings and info could be published.

You want to make this entire process go away? Have all volunteer EMS techs and volunteer fireman say they won't volunteer unless they can get an untrestricted permit.

    "No permit, no prevention"

The voting is being done by secret ballot, not a closed session hearing.

Judge asks if he thinks he's threatened more than others.

Asking for letters from superior officers that they recommend he carry. Said he can't, since not allowed to carry at work.

In this state? The mostly Dem central counties won't care - it means more paid firefighters in the union and higher property taxes to cover it.

He was a federal judge. He knows federal law.
I don’t think he has much state law experience.

I am surprised that they denied the plumber an unrestricted permit.

Judge wants affidavits from witnesses to prove threat. Judge asked if leader hip knows of threats. Applicant said it's in log book.

Looks like when there's a threat the applicant is going to have a significant burden to prove threat.

Judge says reapply with appropriate paperwork. However, it not clear what the paperwork is. It's a changing dynamic.

Judge says new evidence can be provided, but some gobbly gook about the MSP interpretation. Applicant said isn't the purpose of this hearing to have able to present new evidence.

Looks like Ed Hershon will be busy here. Applicant's aren't going to be able to navigate this moving process.
